Amelanchier alnifolia
Smooth stems and grey bark. The leaves are oval shaped, mostly smooth but toothed at the end. The white flowers are large and showy and grow in clusters of 3-20. The berry-like pomes are dull red but become purple-black and are sweet and edible. This plant is an important wildlife species.
