2019 Local Work Group
Each year a Local Work Group meeting ensures a team approach to set funding priorities.

Local Work Groups are a key component in the Oregon NRCS Strategic Approach to Conservation.

Each January, the NRCS Tangent Field Office hosts a Local Work Group meeting. They invite Benton and Linn County stakeholders, who work in agriculture, forestry, and range management, to help identify next year’s priority topics and the focus for funding pools. In Benton County, we work with a diverse group of landowners who benefit from NRCS programs and assistance, from large acreage operations, such as hazelnut orchards and oak restoration projects, to small farms that grow vegetables, fruit, eggs, and meat for local farmers markets.
