World Soil Day!!! 12/5/2013
I love to EAT!  Therefore, I invite you to get up, right now, and do a little dance in celebration of World Soil Day!!! It is difficult to come up with ANYTHING in your life that is not related to soil – except, maybe, super synthetic, sterile lab-grown stuff.  Let’s start a list of soil-related things that contribute to the quality of all our lives:  FOOD, clothes, buildings, water, air, creatures, roads, fuel, gardens, farms, cities, beverages, medicine…the list goes on, and ON, AND ON!!!  So – GET UP AND DANCE!!!  SOIL ROCKS!

In 2001, I uprooted my family and moved to Corvallis to pursue a Master’s in Soil Science at OSU. Food waste composting research married with scholarly escapades into soil physics, chemistry and biology prepared me to be a member of the Benton SWCD Team. My passion is to revive regard for soil.
