Brad joined the Benton SWCD team in January of 2025. He has been fascinated by agriculture and land use for over a decade. His diverse experience comes from participating on various sized market farms, owning a beekeeping business, and taking any odd job he could find on farms to gather more experience and insights from producers. His eagerness to learn led him to attend Oregon State in pursuit of studying what lies beneath, SOIL! During his time at OSU he was able to contribute to the Organic Growers Club, Soil Health Lab, and the Dry Farming program. After receiving his B.S. in Crop and Soil Science he worked in seed production, assisted in hydrology and soil research projects, and even took his skills into the forest to work with the Forest Service as a soil technician. No opportunity is a bad opportunity when it comes to getting his hands in the soil. Some may say he’s Loyal to Soil.

His free time is mostly spent outside. He enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, mushroom hunting, and spending time on the water. Basically, if it involves sunshine he’s there, even when it’s hidden behind clouds, rain or snow.
